A good ritual creates a magic space, bridging the worlds, connecting humans with the Mystery. A well held ceremony can empower and transform us, whether we celebrate a wedding, welcome a new child, or gather at a seasonal feast or political action.
On this course we will explore how to create new, meaningful rituals for life's transitions, celebrations and events. New ritual forms crafted to fit our ritual’s intent, our own sense of the sacred, including nature and the spirits, while still building on thousands of years of stored knowledge.
We will work with journeying, drumming, song and dance; in the circle, around the fire, as well as alone in the forest and hills surrounding our cabin. We will draw inspiration from the spirits, and add time-tested directions from shamanic traditions and different cultures’ ceremonies, for example the classic rites of passage.
In our circle, we will experience how ritual form adds focus and power to the spiritual intent of the ritual – whether it is to heal, acknowledge, bless, transform, celebrate or let go of something important in our lives.
In our society today there is a growing need for - and call for - ritual pioneers, for people who know how to create and conduct ceremonies. The aim of the course is that you gather both shamanic and practical tools to find authentic rituals for your own family and circle of friends, and that you get the knowledge and courage to step forward and hold ceremonies in a greater network.
